DREW MILLER & CURIOKEY CLUB invoke a bit of wordplay on the interactive phenomenon of KARAOKE.  At its core, the characters of this collective have often inhabited the subsistence lifestyle and perpetual cycle of musical “jobbing”, operating to serve the music of others. This craftsman approach is necessary for anyone hoping to carve out a profession in music.

As a byproduct of this weird karaoke actuality, their creative output is influenced by a broad array of sounds and inspirations. Their music style has been described as both “experimental indie pop” and “brass driven, genre-fusing rock”.

Since 2005,  DREW has played and recorded with a slew of  National and Kentucky artists, including: Spoon, “Rockabilly Queen” Wanda Jackson, Jerry Green, Junk Yard Dogs, Lucky Pineapple, Wax Fang, Cheyenne Mize, Another Seven Astronauts, Jay Jayle, Will Oldham, Houndmouth, Teddy Abrams, Liberation Prophecy, Tony and The Tanlines, Onward Pilgrim, Patrick Hallahan and 23 String Band.

DREW spent much of 2015 touring with Bonnie Prince Billy and since 2016 has been a touring member of Houndmouth. As a performer with Houndmouth, he has played some of the biggest stages in the United States, including Lollapalooza, Forecastle, Austin City Limits, Telluride Sasquatch Festival, Red Rocks, The Fillmore, Late Night with Carson Daly, next to some of the biggest names in music!

With CURIOKEY CLUB  Drew has organized and performed Paul Simon’s Graceland with Carly Johnson, Mark Charles Heidinger and Cheyenne Mize as well as Talking Heads’  “Stop Making Sense” (both commissioned by Louisville’s Petefest and Pete Foundation). They have performed with Over the Rhine and Bully at WFPK’s Waterfront Wednesday and have split bills at home and regionally with the likes of Skyway Man, Durand Jones and the Indications and Pimps of Joytime. They also have found occasion to honor and celebrate some of their afro beat and highlife heroes under the moniker “Fela Booty”.
